Privacy Policy

Short version: NotebookBloom runs in your browser. Your notebooks, sources, folders, prompts and citations are stored locally (chrome.storage) and, if you enable cloud sync, in your own Google Drive. We do not store your content on our servers.

What we store

• Locally in your browser: your folders, tags, prompts, saved items, citations, flashcards and settings.
• Optional Google Drive sync (Pro): a copy of that data is written to a “NotebookBloom” folder in your own Google Drive. Only you can access it.
• Subscription: if you go Pro, we store your email and subscription status (active/expired) to validate your subscription. We identify you by your Google account — there is no license key.

Anonymous usage analytics

To understand which features are actually used and prioritize improvements, the extension sends a small amount of anonymous usage data to Google Analytics — for example, that a citation export or an Anki export happened, and a count. This is tied to a random, locally generated ID, not to your name, email, Google account, or any of your content. We never send the text of your notebooks, sources, citations, flashcards, or search queries.

What we do NOT do

• We do not store your notebooks, sources, or documents on our servers.
• We do not sell or share your data.
• We do not track your browsing outside the sites the extension is designed to work with.
• We do not send any of your content (notebook text, sources, citations, flashcards, or search terms) to analytics — only anonymous feature-usage counts.

Permissions

The extension requests access to NotebookLM and supported sites (YouTube, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Perplexity) only to read/add content as you direct; to Google Drive (drive.file scope — only files the extension itself creates) for optional sync; and your Google email to identify your subscription.

Payments

Payments are processed by Stripe. We receive your email and subscription status, not your card details.
