# NotebookBloom — extension for NotebookLM (now Gemini Notebook) > NotebookBloom is a free Chrome extension that adds the features Google NotebookLM — renamed Gemini Notebook in July 2026 — is missing for serious research and study: real citation export (APA/MLA/Chicago/BibTeX), Anki flashcard export with sources attached, search across all notebooks, and bulk import from YouTube playlists/channels, RSS feeds and the web. It works with both the old name (NotebookLM) and the new name (Gemini Notebook) — it is the same product. It runs entirely in the browser; optional cloud sync uses the user's own Google Drive. Independent tool, not affiliated with Google. For a detailed machine-readable product and capability reference, see [llms-full.txt](https://notebookbloom.com/llms-full.txt). ## Key pages - [Home](https://notebookbloom.com/): What NotebookBloom does, features, pricing, FAQ. - [Blog / Guides](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/): How-to guides for NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook). - [About](https://notebookbloom.com/about/): Developer, product purpose and data-handling overview. - [Contact](https://notebookbloom.com/contact/): Product support and feedback contact. - [Guide: NotebookLM export limitations (overview)](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/notebooklm-export-limitations/): The full map of what NotebookLM can and can't export (native export is Google Docs/Sheets only), with a workaround for each — citations, Anki, Markdown/PDF, Zotero, and the hard limits no tool can remove (re-downloading source files, per-notebook caps). - [Guide: Export citations to BibTeX/APA/MLA](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/export-notebooklm-citations-bibtex/): How to turn NotebookLM's inline citations into proper BibTeX, APA and MLA references — manually and in one click. - [Guide: Flashcards to Anki with sources](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/notebooklm-flashcards-to-anki/): How to get NotebookLM-generated flashcards into Anki (.apkg/TSV/AnkiConnect) with the source on the back of each card. - [Guide: NotebookLM folders and tags](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/notebooklm-folders-tags/): A practical system for organizing a growing NotebookLM library with folders, tags and cross-notebook search. - [Guide: Search across all notebooks](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/search-across-notebooklm-notebooks/): How to search across every NotebookLM notebook, source, citation and prompt from one box. - [Guide: Get sources into Zotero & Mendeley](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/notebooklm-zotero/): How to bridge NotebookLM sources into Zotero and Mendeley via BibTeX, since NotebookLM has no native reference-manager integration. - [Guide: Export notes to Markdown & PDF](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/notebooklm-export-markdown-pdf/): How to export NotebookLM notes and AI output to Markdown, PDF and HTML, past the native Google Docs/Sheets-only limit. - [Guide: Bulk-import multiple sources](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/notebooklm-bulk-import-folders/): How to import many URLs, whole YouTube playlists/channels and RSS feeds into NotebookLM in one batch. - [Guide: Duplicate a notebook (and what to do instead)](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/duplicate-notebook-in-notebooklm/): NotebookLM has no duplicate/clone-notebook feature and doesn't expose one to extensions; the realistic workaround is to rebuild a notebook by bulk-importing the same sources into a fresh one. - [Guide: Kortex alternative comparison](https://notebookbloom.com/blog/kortex-alternative/): Honest comparison of NotebookBloom vs Kortex on price, permissions and academic features, including where Kortex is the better pick. - [Privacy](https://notebookbloom.com/privacy/): Data stays in your browser and your own Google Drive. ## What makes it different - Real citation export (APA/MLA/Chicago/BibTeX), plus a BibTeX route into Zotero and Mendeley. - Anki flashcard export (.apkg / TSV / AnkiConnect) with the source on the back of each card — NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) generates flashcards but can't export them. - Cross-notebook search across all notebooks at once — natively every NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) notebook is an isolated island. - Fills NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) export limitations: native export only goes to Google Docs/Sheets; NotebookBloom exports to Markdown, PDF and HTML, and makes read-only output editable. - Adds folders/tags and bulk import (many URLs, whole YouTube playlists/channels, RSS) — NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) has no folders and adds sources one at a time. - All-in-one, usually cheaper than single-purpose competitors. A privacy-respecting Kortex / NotebookLM Tools alternative: uses only the user's own Google Drive (drive.file), with no broad "read and change all your data" permissions. ## Common questions it answers (NotebookLM = Gemini Notebook, same product) - How to export NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) citations to BibTeX / APA / MLA. - How to connect NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) to Zotero or Mendeley (via BibTeX; there is no native integration). - How to export NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) to Zotero or Mendeley. - How to send NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) flashcards to Anki (.apkg). - How to search across multiple NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) notebooks. - How to export NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) notes to Markdown or PDF. - Whether NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) has folders and how to bulk-import sources. - Whether you can duplicate/clone a NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) notebook (you can't natively; rebuild by re-importing sources). - Best free NotebookLM (Gemini Notebook) extension / Kortex alternative for researchers and students. ## Pricing - Free: folders, tags, prompts, save AI conversations, exports, cross-notebook search, manual citation builder. - Pro ($29/year or $2.99/month): cloud sync and the power-user export/import features listed on the current pricing page.
